Street Fest is back for 2024

Date Released - 14/02/2024

Stalybridge Street Fest is back for another year with a whopping eight food and family fun events set to bring a menu of tasty treats from April to November for 2024.

The events will once again be funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for Communities and Place, which was awarded to Tameside Council to improve public realm, greenspaces and support cultural events across the borough.

Running since 2021 - with a tried and tested formula of family fun, live music and tasty food and drink – Street Fest has really helped bring out the local community and generate footfall and civic pride for the town. The early evening event will take place from 5-9pm on the second Friday of the month, with the November date to be confirmed but it will move to support the town’s Christmas events.

Cllr Jack Naylor, Tameside Council’s executive member for inclusive growth, business and employment said:

“Street Fest is a really fantastic event; it brings out the crowds and adds a tangible vibrancy to the town. The UKSPF funds have been invaluable to us to help support the event, that the whole community can get behind. We want to make this a sustainable model for the future which can continue to generate real economic benefits for Stalybridge and across borough. Events like these really help to bring people together and support local businesses in line with our aims for inclusive growth across Tameside.”
